MOSES LAKE — The Spokane-based company Lydig was selected as the general contractor for the SGL Automotive Carbon Fibers facility in Moses Lake.
The project’s groundbreaking was July 7.
Construction was originally set to begin in June.
It’s expected between 150 and 200 construction jobs are created with the building of the carbon fiber plant.
The plant’s commissioning is set for the third quarter of 2011.
SGL spokesperson Elizabeth Breyer said Tuesday she was unable to comment about the bid selection due to confidentiality reasons.
Lydig helped complete the $190 million expansion of the Coyote Ridge Corrections Center in Connell in 2008. Hunt Construction was also part of that project.
