Dorothy E. Cantrell, age 74, of Moses Lake, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2010, at Samaritan Hospital following a brief illness.

1936-2010

Dorothy E. Cantrell, age 74, of Moses Lake, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2010, at Samaritan Hospital following a brief illness. She was born Dorothy Elaine Schoessler on February 20, 1936 to George and Ruth (Delzer) Schoessler in Outlook, Wa. Dorothy grew up on the family farm in Grandview, Wa. She met her husband, Bill, at a church function and later married him on October 15, 1954.

They moved to Yakima, Wa. In 1962 where she raised her family, and in 1985, moved to Moses Lake due to Bill's job. Dorothy enjoyed motorcycle riding, camping and fishing, crocheting afghans and raising her four children. She was a member of the Peninsula Evangelical Methodist Church.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Bill, of 56 years, three sons and one daughter, Ron and Doug of Moses Lake, Terry of Vancouver, Wa. and Cheryl Haydeen of Moses Lake. Also, one brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Linda Schoessler of Moses Lake, one sister and brother-in-law Delta and Roger Quaintance of Padre Island, Tx. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy's family would like to thank the people of Summerwood Alzheimer's Care Facility for the special care they gave to Dorothy for the last 1½ years.

There will be a memorial service held on July 16, 2010 at 10:00 am at the Peninsula Evangelical Methodist Church, 2403 West Texas in Moses Lake, Wa.
