POTATOES
Thanks to the Columbia Basin Herald and Grant County Gourmet Dan Bolyard for running the great page of potato information and recipes prior to our annual potato conference. The accurate headline, “Potato recipes to help you reach your weight-loss goals,” and the wonderful variety of recipes that followed really nailed the message that potatoes are one of the healthiest foods you can eat. Contrary to some current mythology that still exists, potatoes contain vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients and they don’t make you fat. In fact, carbohydrates are nature’s way of fueling your body.
