DOGS

| January 28, 2010 8:00 PM

It was with horror that I read about the deputy sheriff killing Slyder last Sunday, Jan. 24. I have worked with Slyder’s owner, Nick, at Frederick’s Jewelry for several years. Slyder was at the store every single day that Nick was working. There was never a gentler dog. Everyone who entered the store, from toddler to oldster, adored him. He and Nick were bosom buddies who understood each other implicitly. Nick walked Slyder several times a day in the downtown area. There was never a problem with other animals on the street nor in the store. I am heartsick that this happened. I hope the Columbia Basin Herald will follow up and publish all the facts regarding Slyder’s death.
