Loyal Edward (Tommy) Thompson, Jr.

Loyal Edward (Tommy) Thompson, Jr. of Moses Lake, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at the age of 92. Tommy was born December 19th, 1917 in Alma Michigan. He and his family moved to Miami, Florida in 1922 where he was raised and eventually met his wife, Ruth. After marriage they moved to Moses Lake in 1949, where he owned and operated Thompson Equipment Company, Red Top International, and was a part owner of Express Building Supply.

Tommy was a member of the Moses Lake Masonic Lodge #174, the Elks Club and the Rotary Club. He was a founding member of the Moses Lake Golf and Country Club and served for many years on the Moses Lake Planning Commission.

He is survived by his loving wife Ruth of seventy years; son Loyal Edward Thompson III and his wife Sharon of Woodland Hills, California; daughter Carol Weston of Seattle; son Kenneth R. Thompson and his wife Bonnie of Moses Lake; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

There will be a private family service at Pioneer Memorial Gardens in Moses Lake. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice.
