MOSES LAKE — If you haven’t been to the Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce Web site for a few months, you should appreciate it upon your return. It’s new, attractive and useful.

According to Chamber Executive Director Debbie Doran-Martinez, the redesign was started in September under the direction of consultant Jett Ray, a chamber member. The new site was launched in December under the same Web site as before: www.moseslake.com.

“We had a nice site before, but it was old-fashioned,” Doran-Martinez said.

This site is 100 percent better than the old one, Doran-Martinez believes. Comparatively, it is expansive. You can find everything informational on the site you would find in the chamber office.

“We wanted to make more information available 24-7. Obviously we can’t keep the doors open all of those hours,” Doran-Martinez said.

Doran-Martinez noted the site has a pinpoint map that will lead users to the exact spot they want to be when they visit Moses Lake. Visiting softball players would be able to find their field on the Web site.

Doran-Martinez said a visitor looking for a specific service, such as a pharmacy, would find exactly what he or she wants with a couple of clicks. There are 430 members in the chamber, all listed on the site by category.

“All they have to do is click their category and all of the pharmacies pop up, including their locations,” Doran-Martinez said.

The site includes a relocation list for people who are moving to town. It has all of the services and businesses a newcomer would typically seek while moving to town.

“That information is available under the community tab,” Doran-Martinez said. “All they have to do is click the relocation list.”

The site has a smart, bright home page. It is anchored by a picture of a refreshing Moses Lake scene. There are four tabs on the home page that denote the next four major events. The spotlight tab currently promotes the chamber’s Jan. 19 Business Expo.

The Upcoming tabs promote the next events to take place, such as the Big Bend Winter Serenade.

The After Hours tab brings attention to the Chamber’s next After Hours event at Inland Tarp & Liner.

The home page also has a list of community events weeks or months ahead. And it as a four-day weather forecast.

“It’s a great resource for the community as well as people who are visiting,” Doran-Martinez said.
