Jean Ruth (Price) Ruff
God Giveth and God Taketh Away. Jean Ruth (Price) Ruff passed away at home on January 2, 2010 after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor David Daugs officiating. Interment will follow at Guarding Angels Cemetery, 2595 Road L N.E., Moses Lake. Viewing will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Kayser’s Chapel. Jean was born July 18, 1933 in Minot, North Dakota to Ray Price and Bella (Reinke) Price. Jean and her family moved to the Bremerton-Seattle area in 1940. They then moved to Moses Lake in 1946 where she lived the rest of her life. In 1948 she met Edwin Ruff while working at Shad’s Fountain and they married on October 15, 1950.
Jean also worked at Sprouse Rietz and sold Real Estate for several years. In the mid sixties she left the outside work force to stay home and take care of her family and home. In previous years she was active in Eastern Star and Moses Lake Lady of Elks. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, flower arranging and crocheting beautiful afghans.
Jean is survived by her husband of 59 years, Edwin. Her daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and John Guffey of Boise, Idaho, her twin sister June Salmon and her husband Lendell of Edmonds, Washington, and was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Bella Price and a younger sister, Marie Price. She also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Contributions can be made to the charity of your choice.
