COURTS

| February 25, 2010 8:00 PM

I’ve lost faith in our system of courts using jury members to do there dirty work. They say there’s no prejudice, but when a prosecutor and judge ask a jury to look at a witness’ education, especially when they’re officers. Does this mean officers are better than me? I might not be an officer or have much education or even money, but we shouldn’t be judged by our background. I’ve seen so much racism in our courts. Others wish to turn and ignore all that happens in court. There are people out there that know some police officers have market certain families. In my son’s first court trial, the judge didn’t allow my son’s witness to testify because she was running late. There was so much objection, over rule, sustain by the judge, during his first trial. On his second trial, a prosecutor used so many officers only to benefit her case. For one defence witness, a prosecutor brought out past records. Guess grant county officials will do anything for a guilty plea. There were no finger prints on either gun — never found on his person and wasn’t at his residence. But he was found guilty because he has a record. Gabriel will serve more time than any rapist or murder. I love my son. I was so hurt when the prosecutor indicates that I’d lie for my son. I only speak the truth and write the truth.
