Harold L. Johnson, Sr.

On February 20, 2010, Harold went to heaven to be with his wife.

Harold was born on April 3, 1924 in Braddock, ND to Karl and Esther Johnson. There he was raised on the family farm. Harold grew up and attended school in the Kintyre, ND area where he graduated from the 8th grade. Harold worked on the family farms with his father and great uncle. At the age of 18 he bought his first farm.

At 19 he met and married Constance Gerber (18) and had 3 children. A year after their marriage Harold was drafted into the US Army and served in WWII. After being discharged, they stayed in the Bismarck, ND area. Years later in 1951 they moved to Seattle, WA to raise their 3 children. In 1988 after retirement, they moved once more to Moses Lake, WA where they lived and celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

Harold was a hard working mechanic most of his life. After retirement he purchased a horse to raise and ride. He was missing the farm life. He also had a love of restoring old tractors. He always had to have his hand in something.

Harold was preceded by both his parents, brothers Alden Johnson and Edgar Johnson, and wife Constance Johnson.

He is survived by his son/Skip Johnson, his wife/Barb Johnson, daughter/Vicki Grubb, son/Tram Johnson, his wife/ Charlene Johnson, 11 grandkids, and 16 great grandkids.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Kayser’s Chapel of Memories in Moses Lake with Pastor Steve Cox officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. Arrangements are in care of Kayser’s Chapel & Crematory, Moses Lake.
