Pirates sign five players

MOSES LAKE — West Coast League (WCL) members, the Moses Lake Pirates Baseball Club have announced the signing of five new players.

Jerris Van Hess, a junior right-hand pitcher and Mike Dearborn, a junior second baseman from Willamette University are set to come to Moses Lake this summer.

Williamette is a Division III NCAA member and play in the Northwest Conference.

Freshman catcher, Josh Rapacz of Richland, will come aboard via George Fox University while two members of the Whitworth varsity will also be coming aboard.

JR Jarrell, a sophomore first baseman from Brewster and Nathan Johnson, a junior right-hand pitcher from Colfax, will be plying their trade in Moses Lake after making the trip over from the Spokane-based university.

The team’s roster is now up to a total of 24 players.

The Pirates begin their season on June 7 with a home opener against Kelowna.
