Debra Jean Bepple

Debra Jean “Debi” Bepple, Ephrata, 55, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2010.

She was born on June 2, 1954 in Wenatchee to Lester and Vivian (Mattheisen) Bepple. She was raised in Quincy, graduating from Quincy High School in 1972. She continued her education at Kinman Business University in Spokane. She then enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam Era, and during her second tour, she was an agent in the C.I.A. where she received a National Defense Service Medal and a good conduct Medal. She served in Germany, and following her honorable discharge, she made her home in Burbank, California. She worked in the corporate offices of Baskin-Robbins in Southern California. In 1980, she moved to Beaverton, Oregon, where she worked as a purchasing agent for Beards Frame Shop, as well as a Purchasing Manager for the Red Lion Inns and Hotel chains. She returned to Quincy in 1991 and worked various jobs prior to moving to Ephrata in 2000. She owned and operated a daycare center in Ephrata known as “Quilted Cottage Day Care”.

She was an amazingly talented and prolific quilter and enjoyed her televisions shows, especially NCIS and Criminal Minds. She often taped her shows and called friends and family with reviews.

She is survived by one son, Ryan Patrick Bepple, 17, Ephrata; six sisters and one brother, Judi Sutton, Hillsboro, OR, Cindee Ford, Turlock, CA, Kathie Ohmart, Ephrata, WA Mary Siefken (Steve), Castaic, CA, Ken Bepple (Dolores) Mulino, OR, Jeanette Gallagher, Parker, CO, Sheila Bierlink (Galen), Quincy, WA and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Commemoration services with Military Honors will be held on Friday, February 19th at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Ephrata, with Pastor Ed Burns officiating.
