Ephrata City Hall closed

| February 15, 2010 8:00 PM

EPHRATA — A planned closure of Ephrata City Hall is extended to Wednesday after construction crews discovered a problem with the suspended ceiling.

City hall closed Friday because of a planned remodeling project. When the project is finished, there will be three windows in the front of the building. City Administrator Wes Crago said the change allows people to talk to a city employee without having to walk further into the building.

When construction crews were taking out a wall, they discovered it supported the ?ceiling, Crago said. Construction crews need another day to fix the issue.

The closure affects the city’s administrative functions. The public works, fire and police departments won’t be affected, Crago stated.
