Michael Luther Morris

| February 9, 2010 8:00 PM

Michael Luther Morris, 55, of Moses Lake, WA, a beloved grandfather, father, fiance, counselor and friend passed away with peace and dignity on Friday February 5, 2010 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington.

Mike, who had tired of reading obituaries noting other’s courageous battles with this or that disease, wanted it known that he lost his battle. It was primarily as a result of being stubborn and not following doctor’s orders or maybe for just living life a little too well for better than five decades.

He was born September 28, 1954 in Arkansas to Herbert and Mary Morris.

Mike was a “larger than life” figure. Always ready with a smile, a laugh and a bit of sarcasm, he took on the challenges that life gave him with great humor.

True to his personal style, he spent his final weeks joking with medical personnel, and bargaining with God to look over his loving dog, Goldie, and his family.

During his life, he excelled at anything he put his mind to. He loved to hear and tell jokes and spin tales of grand adventures he may or may not have had.

A devoted father, Mike had a very close relationship with his three daughters and step daughter. He was always available to listen and love them.

Mike was deeply in love with his fiance Robin Juergens who’s constant care and affection was one of his life’s greatest gifts.

The light of his life were his granddaughters, especially his little princess Lydia who brought him great joy.

Although Mike will be truly missed, he will live on in the hearts of the people who surrounded him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

In lieu of donations, please buy a loved one a flower, do a kind deed, and tell great stories that he no longer can.

A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday February 10, 2010 at the Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist, 1st St. N.W. and Canal, Ephrata with Gayle Gaither officiating.

Interment will follow at the Ephrata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Kayser’s Chapel in Moses Lake on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Please sign the online guestbook or leave a note for the family at www.kayserschapel.com.
