MOSES LAKE – A man was arrested after attempting to elude Moses Lake police Thursday night.

Lucas S. James, 22, Moses Lake, was booked into Grant County Jail for felony eluding, possession of methamphetamine, driving with a suspended license in the third degree, possession of drug paraphernalia and a warrant concerning unlawful possession of a firearm.

A Moses Lake patrol officer spotted James driving on Broadway Avenue and recognized him as a wanted person, according to police on Friday. The officer attempted a traffic stop but James reportedly fled in his vehicle.

James allegedly fled toward Third Avenue and abandoned his vehicle in a vacant lot on the street, police reported. Police checked the area and reportedly found him attempting to hide in a business where he was taken into custody.
