EPHRATA — Three people, accused of breaking into a residence while a couple was sleeping, are facing charges in Grant County Superior Court.

Stephanie Marie Rice, 29, Antonio V. Ramirez, 18, and Danny Ray Homer, 42, all from Moses Lake are each facing charges of burglary in the first degree — accomplice liability, robbery in the second degree — accomplice liability, malicious mischief in the third degree — accomplice liability, theft in the third degree — accomplice liability and possession of stolen property in the third degree — accomplice liability.

Grant County Superior Court Judge Evan Sperline set a $5,000 bail for Rice, $10,000 bail for Ramirez and $15,000 bail for Homer.

A Warden-area homeowner was awakened on Jan. 21 to the sound of people moving around the front part of her trailer. When she went to investigate, she spotted a man and ran back to her bedroom to wake up her boyfriend, according to a Grant County sheriff’s report.

The two tried scaring the alleged intruders off by letting their dogs out. When it didn’t work, the homeowner’s boyfriend started barricading the bedroom door, while Homer allegedly tried to force his way in, according to the police report. The boyfriend eventually stepped into the hallway to confront the burglar.

The victim reportedly forced Homer outside. When all of the alleged intruders were outside of trailer, the victim held the door closed as the intruders tried to re-enter the trailer, according to the police report. Rice, Ramirez and Homer allegedly broke the windows in the man’s car.

A deputy spotted the three people in a vehicle in the area. When the vehicle was searched police found a DVD player and several DVDs allegedly taken from the home, according to the police report.

Prosecutors filed charges against a fourth person, Nicole Rae Pleinis, 25, Moses Lake, but Sperline chose to drop the charges because he did not accept the proposed probable cause for charging.
