MOSES LAKE — The Washington State Patrol chased a vehicle Wednesday morning until the driver fled on foot.

The pursuit began at about 1:15 a.m. when a trooper attempted to stop a 1993 Buick sedan driving with its headlights off, said Trooper Rich Magnussen. The vehicle did not stop and fled on North Stratford Road to state Route 17 with three subjects inside.

The pursuit continued to Wheeler Road and Canterbury Lane where the car struck a chain gate, he said. The vehicle continued to flee.

The car was located abandoned on Grand Drive, Magnussen said. The parking brake was not set and it rolled backwards into a residence.

A female inside the car at the time of the pursuit stayed with the car after it was abandoned, he said. She is not being charged. Two males, a driver and passenger, fled on foot.

Magnussen explained they are gathering information about the suspect through surveillance footage and plan to charge the driver with felony eluding, reckless driving, two counts of hit-and-run with property damage and obstruction of justice.

The male’s identify was not yet released.

There were no injuries reported during the pursuit, Magnussen said.
