Gladys Odegard Elliott

Gladys Odegard Elliott, 68, passed away December 27, 2010, with her family by her side in Wenatchee, WA. Viewing will be held from 9 am to 12:30 pm on Monday, Jan. 3, 2010 at Kayser's Chapel, Moses Lake.

Funeral services will follow at 2 pm, Monday, Jan. 3rd at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 516 E. Nelson Rd., Moses Lake. Interment will be at Valley View Memorial Park in Soap Lake. Please sign the book or leave a note for the family at www.kayserschapel.com

Gladys grew up in Ephrata and surrounding areas. She graduated from Ephrata High School in 1960. After graduation, she started working at Southern Bell Telephone when she met Air Force Buck Sergeant David Elliott. After dating for a short 3 months, they married on March 7, 1964. During their married life, they lived in Washington, California, North Carolina, and Georgia. They have 2 daughters, Laura (1964) and Carol (1966).

Gladys spent several years in accounts receivable at Brown Printing and then several years in accounts payable at Shaw, Ind., both in Dalton, GA. When she and her family moved back to Washington, she did childcare. She was then employed by Kmart in cash management.

She was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for the past 20 years.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, doing crafts, reading, and sharing Jesus with people.

She is survived by her spouse of 46 years, David Elliott of Moses Lake; daughters Laura Silvers (Daryl) of Moses Lake, and Carol Strong (Wayne) of Springfield, Oregon; sisters Janice Kelly (John) of Benton City, Suzanne Sieg (Gary) of Hartline, Sherry Spurbeck (Don) of East Wenatchee, and Laurie Dilling (Huc) of Ephrata; 3 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 1 great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
