Leonel B. Gonzales

Leonel B. Gonzales, 49, passed away on December 21, 2010 in Spokane, WA. Leonel was born October 24, 1961 in Altus, OK to Juan C. and Juanita (Balderas) Gonzales.

Leonel attended school and farmed with his father in Moses Lake until he began working as a general carpenter in construction, which he worked for more than 25 years. His last employer was Hoerner's Construction Co. in Spokane. Leonel enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, hunting, dancing, fast cars and NASCAR. He especially enjoyed his family, friends and cooking for them at family BBQ's.

Leonel is survived by his dear mother Juanita Balderas of Othello, WA; his children Valerie D. Gonzales of Mercedes, TX, Erica Esperanza Gonzales of Moses Lake, WA and Leonel Adam Gonzales of Spokane, WA; brothers Juan J. Gonzales, Alex Ian Dahl and Santos (Trena) Gonzales, of Seattle, WA; sister Cecilia (Daniel) Garza of Moses Lake, WA; 4 grandchildren; 2 nieces Jhenesis and Iesha, 2 nephews Nicholas and Jesse; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Leonel was preceded in death by his father Juan C. Gonzales, son Israel Gonzales, grandparents Jose Maria Gonzales, Pedro Balderas, Guadalupe Cantu and Alfonsa Zamora and several very special aunts and uncles.

Leonel was a very special son, brother, father and friend. He is dearly missed by all of us.

Viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 200 N. Dale Rd., Moses Lake, WA with Recitation of the Holy Rosary led by Deacon Armando Escamilla and followed by Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Fr. Tomas Vidal at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2010.
