DAVENPORT - Improved defense was evident for the Columbia Basin Secondary School Phoenix who still struggled to get their offense going in a 36-1 loss at Davenport last night.

The Phoenix (0-5) are still playing with only five players.

"Our goals for this season include, stopping all fast breaks, slowing the ball down and protecting the hoop, and boxout rebounding," Phoenix head coach Ashlee Holten said. "We are beginning to see the results of these goals we set as we continue to outrebound other teams and have only allowed two uncontested layins in three games. We are still only playing five girls but we are a team that starts and finishes together."
