Flu season arrives in Moses Lake
MOSES LAKE — Health officials confirmed flu cases in Grant, Kittitas and Yakima counties as well as Canadian provinces during the past week.
People with influenza, commonly known as the flu, who have a cough and fever should remain at home until these symptoms have passed.
If staying at home is not possible, health district medical staff recommend using a mask when in public places.
Ill mothers caring for babies are encouraged to wear a mask.
Getting a flu shot is the best way to prevent getting and spreading the flu. The health district advises community members to contact their doctor or visit a participating pharmacy to get a flu shot.
Find a location to get flu shots using the “flu finder” on the Grant County Health District Web site, www.granthealth.org.
For more information, call the Grant County Health District in Moses Lake at 509-766-7960 and in Ephrata at 509-754-6060.
