Wrestling: QUINCY 40, Wapato 33

WAPATO - The Quincy Jackrabbits secured their first Central Washington Athletic Conference (CWAC) win of the season with a 40-33 win at Wapato on Tuesday.

Four pin wins were recorded by Christian Alejandrez (112-pounds), Blas Magana (130-pounds), Manny Ybarra (140-pounds), and Ben Horning (152-pounds).

"Overall this was the best match of the year," Quincy head coach Greg Martinez said. "The kids came out fired up and wrestled really well. Every wrestler on the mat pushed the pace. Our conditioning program and the kids hard work is really starting to take shape."

Other wins came via decision victories by Anthony Navarro (119-pounds), Isias Jimenez (145-pounds), and Gabe Martinez (103-pounds), who won in overtime.

Navarro trailed 6-1 going into the third round to record the comeback victory.
