Warden continues dominance
CONNELL - Oh hum.
Almost in routine fashion the Warden Cougars continued their early run of dominant form as they left the Connell Invitational on Saturday resounding victors.
With a team score of 210 points, Warden easily outdistanced Connell (176 points), and Royal (143), for their second, team, regular-season title, following last week's victory at Omak.
"We are pleased with the teams wrestling at this point," Warden head coach Rick Bowers said. "We were able to insert more of the blue team into the line up, the pieces are coming together."
What also came together for the Cougars was the superior wrestling of four of its athletes that took home individual titles.
Anthony Platas (130-pounds), Ernesto Orozco (140-pounds), Hector Camacho (152-pounds), and Kenny Sullivan (160-pounds), all came away with top finishes in their respective weight classes.
Second-place results were recorded by Javier Tapia (112-pounds), and Saul Hinojosa (119-pounds),
Jesus Dominguez (third-place, 103-pounds), Ramses Rodelo (fourth-place, 119-pounds), Ceasar Rangel (third-place, 135-pounds), Gerino Luna (third-place, 215-pounds), Matt DeLeon (third-place, 285-pounds), J.P. Martinez (fourth-place, 125-pounds), Sam Suarez (fourth-place, 145-pounds), and Adam Hansen (fourth-place, 189-pounds), also competed over the weekend for the Cougars.
