Marcelino Garcia

Marcelino Garcia, 74, a long time resident of Moses Lake passed away Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee following a long illness. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m., Dec. 14th at Our Lady of Fatima. Interment followed at Guarding Angels Cemetery. Marcelino was born June 2, 1936 in Dilley, Texas to the late Gerardo and Antonia Garcia. He worked in the agriculture industry in Texas and in 1959, moved his young family to Moses Lake where he continued his career and raised his family.

Marcelino was preceded in death by his brothers Alvino and Juan Jose, and Sister Aurora.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Paula (Rodriguez) Garcia, their children Johnny Garcia, Julie (Joe) Martinez, Mera (Martin) Sandoval, Marcelino Jr. (Becky) Garcia, Mark (Victoria) Garcia, of Moses Lake and Letty (Corinne) Garcia of Seattle, sisters Rosie (Lupe) Reyna, Ramona (Pablo) Rodriguez, Maggie (Hector) Hernandez, Francisca Garcia, Maria (Gilbert) Morales and brother, Jesus Natividad (Sandy) Garcia of Moses Lake, grandchildren Chacho (Leah) Yzaguirre, Cecil (Krystal) Esparza, Richie (Nicole) Yzaguirre, Yvonne (Jim) Reigstad, Thomas (Carly) Garcia, Josh Garcia, Erica (Valerie) Gonzales, Jeremy Garcia, Natalie Martinez, Boy Flores, Jordan Garcia and Savanna Garcia, numerous great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a devout and lifelong member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, where he spent many hours volunteering with the Sacred Heart Guild and playing the guitar in the church choir.

Marcelino loved nothing more than spending time with his family barbequing on hot summer days while listening to Tejano music. He also enjoyed watching the Seattle Mariners, “The Price is Right” and Westerns on television. Marcelino always enjoyed being outdoors whether working with agriculture equipment in support of his family or simply pruning a bush in his back yard on a beautiful day.
