Elisabeth Mae Johnson

Elisabeth Mae Johnson, 87, of Moose Lake, MN formerly of Moses Lake, WA, died Wednesday, December 8, 2010 in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake, MN. She was born April 12, 1923 in Brainerd, MN to Peter and Bessie Johnson, daughter of Lars and Anna Kristofferson. A graduate of Saint Olaf College, Northfield, MN, she was united in marriage to Jean R. Johnson on April 12, 1946 in Minneapolis, MN. Elisabeth and Jean moved to Washington where she was an elementary school teacher and raised 6 children. In 2002, they moved to Moose Lake, MN. Elisabeth was an author and wrote the novel, “Lars and Anna, A Love Story”. She also wrote devotionals at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Moses Lake, WA. Elisabeth was a member of Evangelical Covenant Church, Moose Lake, MN. She was also very accomplished in Rosemaling.

Elisabeth is preceded in death by her husband, Jean and her parents.

Elisabeth is survived by 6 children, Nels (Randi) Johnson of Arcata, CA, Jon (Francie) Johnson of Moses Lake, WA, Eric (Karen) Johnson of Santa Ana, CA, Sunny (Dave) Robinson of Moses Lake, WA, Mark Johnson of Moses Lake, WA and Timothy (Daisy) Johnson of Moose Lake, MN; grandchildren, Leif and Chris Johnson, Eli and JJ Johnson, Sol, Selena and Cosmo (Maurya) Robinson, Lisa (Randy) Buck, Keli (Kirk) Wherritt, Kjel (Dorothy) Johnson and Luke Frank; 7 great grandchildren; many step and adopted grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, December 11, from 2 PM until the 3 PM Memorial Service in Evangelical Covenant Church, Moose Lake, MN.
