PUD ELECTION

| August 26, 2010 1:00 PM

Reader supports Ron Baker

The PUD raised rates 4 percent earlier this year. Now PUD staff and commissioners are evaluating a 7 to 20 percent rate increase disguised as a temporary surcharge. We all know how temporary charges and taxes quietly become permanent.

We need to replace all the PUD commissioners. Fifty years after the PUD was formed, the PUD now has more debt that it cost to build the dams.

I have decided to vote for Ron Baker, as the new commissioner in District B.

As an engineer he understands projects, cost, pro forma, and budgets. I believe he will be a commissioner that can lead.
