MOSES LAKE - Beautiful weather, festive crowds, and a strong sense of competition made for a memorable 2010 Moses Lake Round Up Rodeo at the Grant County Fairgrounds which wrapped up Saturday night.

A plethora of athletes and entertainment kept the large crowds either cheering or laughing as the rodeo played out during the course of the three-day event, which began on Thursday.

The winners of each event included, Ryan Gray (Cheney, Bareback Riding), Lindsay Sears (Nanton, Alberta, Barrel Racing), Ryan MacKenzie (Jordan Valley, Ore., Saddle Bronc Riding), Roger Nonella (Klamath Falls, Ore., Tie Down Roping), Tod Suhn (Hermosa, S.D., Steer Wrestling), Spencer Mitchell (Colusa, Calif.) and Broc Cresta (Santa Rosa, Calif.) in Team Roping, and R.J. Kriege (Prineville, Ore., Bull Riding).

Soap Lake's Sev Carden finished eighth in Bull Riding to be the highest placed entrant out of the Columbia Basin.

In between all the giggles brought forth by rodeo clown, J.J. Harrison or the respect shown for Dr. Dwaine McIntosh and Dr. James Irwin on Friday night or Cletis Lacy the next evening, the rodeo had it all.

McIntosh, who owns the Moses Lake Veterinary Clinic, was recognized for his decades of work with the rodeo animals which came to him either ailing or injured, while Irwin, of Samaritan General Surgery, earned his accolades for working with the athletes themselves for years as the medical doctor on hand for the event.

Lacy, was nominated for Man of the Year by the Columbia Basin Rodeo Association because of his many years of commitment to promoting the sport of rodeo all over the nation, including Moses Lake.

The Grand Coulee-native has helped with despite never taking a cent for his contributions according to association members.

Of course a rodeo wasn't complete without Brahma Bulls and their trainer Blake Goode who gave spectators a small in-arena piece of theater.

"Another year of Moses Lake Roundup Rodeo has come to a close and perfect weather every night brought large crowds which packed the grandstands," Rob Weber, Moses Lake Round Up Board of Directors member, said. "The Rodeo stock from Corey and Horst performed outstandingly. The audience was excited and really enjoyed J.J. The Moses Lake Roundup Rodeo Committee all agreed that each performance ran perfectly."
