Cascade Valley fire investigated
The Grant County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of a fire on Scott Road that threatened the pictured home and destroyed buildings and vehicles Thursday.

No one was injured in the blaze on Scott Road Thursday afternoon, said Rick Wentworth, battalion chief with Grant County Fire District 5, on Friday.
Two pump houses, a garage containing a new Toyota Prius, lawnmower, trees and a pile of firewood next to a shop were destroyed, he said.
Power lines fell down and a portion of an unoccupied mobile home caught fire. The mobile home fire was extinguished before it could consume the rest of the building.
"It could have been a whole lot worse," Wentworth said. "We managed to get the fire cut off in the shop building."
The fire district responded to the fire and later assisted with the investigation.
Several neighbors reported a grass fire to officials before it spread to the buildings.
