CITY ORDINANCE

| August 19, 2010 1:00 PM

Reader unhappy with city officials

Moses Lake's Residential Vehicle Storage Ordinance is unfair, unconstitutional, an abysmal failure and "the dumbest thing I ever heard."

The despicable and disgraceful actions taken against Moses Lake residents, the Holidays, by City Manager Joe Gavinski and others is reason enough to call for their ouster. The city has waged a selective, discriminating and futile property war against these residents. Having lost any reason in this situation, Gavinski asks, "How do we get compliance?" He's obviously more concerned with power and control than he is for respect of the courts or the well-being of the community. Faced with repeated court losses and prohibition orders, at a monetary cost unknown to the public, these arrogant city officials continue to selectively harass citizens. In total disregard for the court's findings and orders, Gavinski still intends to pursue the issue of compliance by appealing the decision. The city will be doing this at what cost?

The city council should fire the city manager and others. Then, any member that voted to change the number of the ordinance in order to persecute the Holidays, should resign in disgrace.
