Albin John Hamilton, 70, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2010, in Juncalito, Baja California South, Mexico.
Al was born in Brainerd, Minn., where his parents owned and operated a fishing resort on Mille Lacs Lake.
Al's father, John, taught in a one-room school. During the war years, John and his wife, Vi, rented out the resort and moved their family to Bremerton, where they helped the war effort by working in the shipyards. After the war, they sold the resort and moved their family to Ephrata, where John found work as an electrician, and where Al and his sister, Patti, grew up.
After high school Al worked as an electrician on Wanapum and Priest Rapids Dams. Al moved to Rialto, Calif., where he owned and operated King Arthur's Pizza for many years.
In his later years Al returned to electrical work and traveled as a journeyman.
Al loved the Baja. He once biked from San Bernadina, Calif., to La Paz, Baja. Al loved to hunt and fish with his father and friends.
He will always be remembered for his keen mind and wit, and his warm and generous nature.
Al is survived by his sister, Patricia Ann (Dell) Boswell, of Grandview; his family Roger Hamilton, Brenda Knobbe, and Cindy Eiland, in the Riverside, Calif. area; and five grandchildren.
Al's son, Roger, and Al's landlord, Jose Torres, took Al fishing one last time and buried his ashes in the Sea of Cortes near Loreto and Juncalito, Baja, where Al lived his last 10 years.
Al was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Hamilton.
