Gene B. Robbins was born in Thatcher, Idaho, on August 18, 1919 to Hyrum and Laura Robbins, and passed away on August 11, 2010 in Sacred Heart Hospital surrounded by his family.
Gene B. Robbins was born in Thatcher, Idaho, on August 18, 1919 to Hyrum and Laura Robbins, and passed away on August 11, 2010 in Sacred Heart Hospital surrounded by his family. He was a loving son, husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend. He married Juanita M. Davis on February 27, 1946 in Elko, Nevada. Gene and Juanita were blessed with six children: Mary Wood, Bona Poe, Kathy Lindholm, Susan Hay, Kirby Robbins and Scott Robbins; he is survived by his wife, Juanita, his six children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who love him for his kindness and generosity.
Gene resided in Idaho until 1954 at which time he moved his family to Washington to fulfill his dream of owning land and farming. The family moved from Othello in 1958 to Royal Slope where he farmed for many years and retired in 1985 but continued to live on his farm. He was active in his community as a member of the volunteer fire department and the farm bureau. He was also an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he fulfilled numerous positions and continued serving until his death.
A time for visitation will be held at Stevens Funeral Chapel on Monday, August 16, 2010, beginning at 3:00 PM and ending at 7:00 PM. A celebration of Gene's life will be held at the Royal Camp Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Royal Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
