Gisela K. (Rupp) Beiermann died in Lynnwood, Washington at the age of 83 on Saturday, August 7, 2010.

Gisela K. (Rupp) Beiermann died in Lynnwood, Washington at the age of 83 on Saturday, August 7, 2010. She was born December 8, 1926 in Munich, Germany to the parents of Zenta and Josef Rupp. Gisela was a beautician when she met her husband, Donald, while he was stationed in Germany during the war. After marrying in 1953, they moved to Washington State and farmed at Stratford until 1981. Don and Gisela's move to Washington prompted a number of his brothers to come to Washington as well, and the Beiermann family grew larger. After having Guillen Barre in 2003, Gisela resided at Basin Retirement Home in Ephrata. She loved living at the home and made many good friends there. She was a voracious reader, liked playing cards with her friends and loved to shop. She was very sociable, had a good sense of humor and had a great concern for others, which showed in the many charities she donated to. She could relive stories about growing up in Germany and the war years as if it were yesterday. A special thank you goes to her sister-in-law, Beverly of Ephrata for all the card games, dinners, snippets and companionship she provided Gisela throughout the years. Thanks also to the rest of the Beiermann family for their love and support of Gisela after their brother, Don, passed away. Gisela was a member of the American Legion in Ephrata.

Gisela's spirit lives on in her children: daughter, Gail Kataoka (Rick); grandchildren Bradley and Allison Phillips (Brian); son, John Beiermann (Hazel); grandchildren Payton and Haley. Gisela was preceded in death by her husband Don (1995), and son Donald Jr. (1957), parents Josef and Zenta and brother Max. Gisela was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was supportive of her children, grandchildren and their friends. Gisela will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of her life will take place in Ephrata at a later date with a private family burial at Stratford. Memorial donations can be made to Feeding America or the American Legion of Ephrata.
