GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF
Reader supports DeTrolio
I think there are a few things that the citizens of Grant County should know about Tom Jones before they cast their vote for Grant County Sheriff. Tom is currently the sergeant in charge of the Inter Agency Narcotics Task Force in Grant County. Tom has been in that position since Nov. 2007. During that time, the productivity of the task force has dropped by over 50 percent. Not exactly a stellar accomplishment for a man that wants to lead the Grant County Sheriff's Office. In the first part of July this year, Tom was seen by several people on the beach at the Moses Lake sand dunes drinking alcohol. In case you didn't know, drinking alcohol in the sand dunes is illegal. Is this the kind of ethics you want from the next sheriff? On Monday, Aug. 2, there were several people holding up "Jones for Sheriff" signs at the intersection of Broadway and Alder. There's nothing wrong with that and it's not an unusual campaign method. What is disturbing is that one of those people was Tom Jones and Tom is currently on sick leave from the sheriff's office and getting paid by Grant County. So, he is too sick to come to work, but not too sick to get paid by the county while he holds up his signs on the street corner? Again, I have to ask, is this the ethics you want in your next sheriff? I support and endorse Frank DeTrolio for Grant County Sheriff. There has never been a question about Frank's ethics, compassion, professionalism, respectability, or sense of duty to the citizens of Grant County. I urge everyone to vote for, and re-elect, Frank DeTrolio for Grant County Sheriff.
