God called Ruth to her heavenly home on Thursday, August 5, 2010.

Ruth was born April 18, 1924 in Ritzville, Washington and graduated from Medical Lake High School on May 29, 1941. After attending Kinman Business University for a 9 month secretarial course, Ruth's first job was at the Spokane Air Depot. After World War II, her job ended and she was then hired as a stenographer at K and L Beverage Co. located in downtown Spokane. She married Sgt. Emmett A. Burnett (who was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base) on January 20, 1950 at First Presbyterian Church in Spokane. Their first daughter, Diane, was born on December 30, 1950. Their second daughter, Karen, was born on October 15, 1956. In May 1960, Emmett received orders for a 2 year tour of Goose Bay, Labrador. In the spring of 1962, Emmett received order to report to Travis Air Force Base. Chief Master Sargeant Emmett Burnett received a medical retirement from the Air Force in December 1962. In January 1963, the family moved to Rancho Cordova, a suburb of Sacramento. In 1965 the family moved to Spokane. In March 1966, Ruth was hired at Fairchild Air Force Base as a Clerk Typist. She held numerous positions at Fairchild until she retired in August 1985 as an Administration Section Supervisor in the Supply Squadron. Ruth received Civilian of the Year at Fairchild Air Force Base in 1983. Ruth moved to Moses Lake Senior Living Community in January 2009. The family would like to extend a special thank you for the love and care given by the staff and her friends (especially Joyce) at Moses Lake Senior Living Community. Ruth will be remembered for her great personality, independence and sense of humor along with her care and compassion (concerned about her family's needs before her own). Ruth's hobbies and interests included spending time with her family, making numerous craft items including cross-stitching, gardening, doing crossword puzzles, and playing Bingo at the NCO Club at Fairchild Air Force Base. She also enjoyed watching Billy Graham Crusades and game shows on TV. At Moses Lake Senior Living Community, she enjoyed participating in their activities (especially Bingo and her friends stated that she won quite often). Ruth was preceded in death by husband Emmett A. Burnett who passed away on January 10, 1980; parents Rheinhold and Renetta (Schumaker) Roloff; and one brother Eugene Roloff. She is survived by daughters Karen (Randy) Girone of Moses Lake, WA and Diane Lee of Yakima, WA; granddaughters Sheila (Josh) Hardman of Puyallup, WA and Michelle (Steve) Tarnoski of Vancouver, WA; grandsons Derek, Nolan and Tony Tarnoski of Vancouver, WA; brother Norman (June) Roloff of Cheney, WA; sisters Lorene (George) Holder of Spokane and Joanne Moore of Anacortes, WA; sister-in-law Jo Roloff of Spokane. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Pines Cemetery on Saturday, August 14, 2010. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ruth Burnett to Moses Lake Senior Living Community, 8425 Aspi Blvd NE, Moses Lake, WA 98837. We love you and will miss you.
