MOSES LAKE — Former Columbia Basin Herald employee Bob Petty joined Moses Lake Family Auto Center as a car salesman.

Petty has more than 50 years of experience in industrial sales.

He worked at the newspaper for four years as a kiosk sales manager.

“I have officially retired four times in my working career,” he says. “Now I’m on my fifth career as a car salesman.”

He called himself the grandpa of the business, as all the kids call him “Grandpa Bob,” he says.

One of the business’s owner, Garry Burns, is married to Petty’s daughter, Sharon Burns. She owns Salon Goddess in Moses Lake.

Garry owns the car business with sons Adam Burns, Seth Burns and Josh Burns.

“We’re excited to have someone that has that sales experience,” Garry says.  “He’s always been one of the top sellers in whatever field he’s been in.”

“He’s very congenial, will do anything for customers and works good with any age, from first-time buyers to seniors,” Garry comments. “He’s just exceptionally good at what he does.”

The business is located at 1571 E. Yonezawa Blvd., Moses Lake.

It is open from Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed Sunday.
