War
Reader wants people to be more informed
The war we are in with Afghanistan is the longest war we’ve been in with no end in sight. We lose young soldiers nearly every day.
Our troops attacked a bus of Afghan civilians, men, women, and children in which many were killed. Why?
I tend to close my ears to all of this because it’s getting to be so hurtful and painful.
It seems the government wants everyone to be like us. It seems as though our government wants a world order with one government for all, which is, of course, unthinkable.
I’m aware that many people do not vote because they think that it doesn’t change anything but we the people are the government and people must become informed, even if all they do is read the voter’s pamphlet. It’s our duty and we must take this seriously.
Calling our congress people works. I’ve done it when I was uninformed and informed. They always respond. Works for me, and I learn something each time. I’m totally confused on the health reform bill. I don’t think I will ever figure this one out.
Let’s all do what we can whether informed or just learning. Read the voter’s pamphlet. Just doing that will make a difference, but vote after reading it. It feels good. Don’t ever think that you can’t make a difference.
