Mark R. Brain

| April 20, 2010 9:00 PM

Mark R. Brain, 92, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2010, at his home in Pasco, WA.

He was born to Celia (Cappock) and Mark Brain on October 18, 1917, in Headington, Oxford, England. Mark immigrated to the United States in 1949, accompanied by his wife, Joyce, and their son, Terence, who was just one year old. While living in Ontario, OR, their second son, Mark Jr., was born. The family moved to Wapato, WA in 1956, where Mark began working for Northrup King Seed Company. He was transferred to Othello, WA in 1971 and continued to work as Maintenance Manager of Seed Production until retiring in 1985. The family resided in Othello until Joyce, Mark’s wife of 56 years, passed away in 2003. Mark then moved to Pasco and lived with his youngest son, Mark Jr.

Mark was a loving husband and father and grandfather. To know him was to love him.

Dad took a boat across the ocean, climbed Mt. Adams twice, and went to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. What a Guy! He had more friends than you can count – plus he was a great friend, besides being our Dad. Thanks!

Mark is survived by two sons, Terence (Ann) Brain and Mark A. Brain, Jr. and grandson, Trevor, all of Pasco, a sister, Betty Nielson, of Colville, WA, two nieces and their extended families.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 1:00pm at Stevens Funeral Chapel in Othello, WA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of Spokane in Mark R. Brain’s name.
