James “Skip” Hutton was born in Grandview, WA on August 18, 1939, the eldest of five children to Dorothy (Searle) and James A. Hutton. Skip went to school in Richland and Longview, WA before he joined the United States Air Force in February 1958. For most of his military career he served as a machinist technician. While he was stationed at Larsen AFB he met the love of his life, Pat (Koziol) who became his wife on March 19, 1966. They continued their lives in the military where they were stationed in Spokane, Guam, Oklahoma, and Montana before retiring after 21 years of service. They moved back to Moses Lake with their children in the summer of 1979. He then went to work for Rocket Research (Olin Aerospace) as a machinist, QC inspector and radiologist until he retired in the spring of 1999.

Skip really enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved to golf and exercise his green thumb in planting and producing an abundant garden and beautiful flowers. He also took pride and enjoyment in his other hobby of designing and decorating gourds and sharing them with the people he cared about. Spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren was his most cherished “hobby” of all. They enjoyed fishing, gardening, and creating fun in the backyard with their makeshift pools.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Pat and his children, Robert Hutton (Sandy) of Spokane, WA, Jim Hutton and Cheryl Cox (JR) of Moses Lake, WA and his grandchildren, Scott Hutton (Sam) of Moses Lake, Shawn Hutton, San Antonio, TX, Zandra Hutton, San Antonio, TX, Will Courtney, Spokane, WA, and Brenden, Alyssa and Kenzie Cox all of Moses Lake and two great grand children, Devynn Hutton and Leilynd Hutton both of Moses Lake. He is also survived by four siblings, Patty Davila (Dio), Mike Hutton (Barb), Gary Hutton and Jeannie Bracelin and five brothers and sister in laws, Terry Hansen (Loren), Kerry Koziol (KK), Steve Koziol (Linda), Tony Koziol (Deanna), and Doug Koziol and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father and two sons, James Alan Hutton and Scott Alan Hutton.

Papa, you will be missed greatly and although our time was shortened our memories will last forever, we love you.
