Hazel Blackburn
Hazel Katherine Blackburn, 79, went home to be with the Lord at the age of seventy-nine on April 14th, 2010 at the Columbia Basin Hospital in Ephrata, Washington. Surrounded by her family and loved ones until the last moments, Hazel was dearly loved and adored by all.
Known for a lively personality and quick-wit, she was as sweet as she was stubborn. Hazel was a picture of generosity, painted by years of selfless care, love and compassion for her family and friends. Her greatest passion and joy in life was found in moments spent with family and friends, it is for this that she will be remembered. Though Hazel has left us for a time, her spirit of love and generosity remains imprinted upon our hearts.
Hazel was born on November 4th 1930. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Blackburn and her sister Helen Huffman.
Hazel is survived by her daughter Bobbie O’leary and husband Pat, her son Cliff Blackburn and wife Desiray, daughter Mary Ibach and husband Jeff, daughter Jan Stredwick and husband Brent. Grandchildren: Scott, Cameron, Beth, Chris, Shannon, Robby, Tommy, Matt, Jacob, Anna and Cole. Great grandchildren: Haley, Addyson, Riley, Kayla, Olivia, Payton, Cooper and Mayson. She is also survived by her sister Billiette Pitz and husband Walter and brother Morris Mahanna.
Services will be held on Saturday April 17th at 11:00 a.m. at the Bread of Life Church in Ephrata, Washington located at 144 14th Avenue.
The family would like to thank all those that cared for Hazel throughout the time that she spent at Columbia Basin Hospital, you embraced her as your own mother and grandmother, we are grateful that she was in such tender hands.
She will be missed, and will continue to be loved unabashedly by those she leaves behind.
Her family rests in knowing that she has finally received her reward; “As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I will be satisfied when I awake in Your Likeness.” Psalm 17:15.
