Donald Tritle

Donald Tritle, 63, of Ephrata passed away April 7, 2010 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.

A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Nazarene in Royal City, at 11 A.M. on Friday, April 16, 2010. Please sign the book or leave a note for the family at www.kayserschapel.com

Donald was born on June 27th 1946. He graduated from Quincy High School. His adult life was spent in Mattawa, Royal City, and Ephrata.

Don was employed by Grant County Road District #3 for 30 years and after retiring went into construction as a road grader, and heavy equipment operator. In 2001 Don and Kathy bought and ran the Hitching Post Mini Mart in Lakeview, WA.

During his years with the Road District Don was also very involved in serving his country and community. Don served on the City Council in Royal City, was a member of the Washington Army National Guard, 1161st Unit of Ephrata, was in the Grant County Sheriff Reserves, Royal City Police Reserves, and he was a Grant County Fire District volunteer in District 8 in Mattawa, and District 10 in Royal City. Donald became the first Mattawa police officer in 1970. Don provided hunter safety classes for the game department and was involved with the Boy Scouts.

Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by wife, Kathleen (Kathy) Tritle of Ephrata, daughter Sherry Renteria and husband Raymundo of Royal City, son Clayton Kwak and wife Tiffany of Tri-Cities, granddaughters Sarah (Woodward) Henry and husband Eric of Okanogan, and Megan Woodword of Royal City. Two great grandchildren, Emily and Stetson Henry of Okanogan. His sister Mary (Tritle) Maes and husband Leroy of Oregon, brother Ken Tritle and wife Barbara of Soap Lake, brother Mike Tritle of Ephrata, sister Patricia (Houston) Gonzalez and husband Johnny of Spokane, brother Steve Houston and wife Rita of Oregon, sister Debra (Houston) Dexter and husband Forrest of Spokane, and Keith Houston and wife Candy of Quincy and many nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Tritle and Ida Houston.
