WAC 197-11-970 Determination of NonSignificance (DNS).

DETERMINATION OF NONSIGNIFICANCE

Description of proposal

Pursuant to the Priest Rapids Hydroelectric Project (Project) License (FERC No. 2114), the Grant County Public Utility District No. 2 (Grant PUD) is proposing various shoreline stabilization measures to arrest on-going shoreline erosion from wave and wind action and provide long-term, low maintenance stabilization of the eroding shoreline. Grant PUD has identified 12 high priority sites located along the mid-Columbia River (Wanapum and Priest Rapids reservoirs) in portions of Chelan, Douglas, Grant, and Kittitas counties, Washington, where active wind and wave erosion are most pronounced. Proposed stabilization methods will employ mostly bio-engineering techniques such as vegetated soil lifts, large woody debris, hydroseeding and native plantings.

All 12 sites are located along the shorelines of the Wanapum and Priest Rapids reservoirs of the Columbia River between the Rock Island Dam at River Mile (RM) 453 and the Beverly Railroad Bridge at RM 410.
