On Thursday at 3:48 pm, my wife and I became grandparents when Kaia Grace Maben arrived at the first tee. In addition to the congratulations, the customary "old-age" needling has begun so it's time to retaliate! I merely point out that on top of the leaderboard at The Masters' after day one is senior tour player Fred Couples. At age 50, he is ten years younger than a guy right on his heels tied for second, 60 year old Tom Watson.  Unlike my critics, they did not ride golf carts.

As you watch the tournament, here are some things to notice:

1)  As they swing, professionals finish in perfect balance just about every time.

2)  If you can't putt well, you can't compete.

3)  It is critical that, if they miss a shot, they keep the ball on the correct side  the hole.

I'm not big on top ten lists; three is my number. You won't remember a list of ten, anyway. Of course, at my advanced age, I have trouble long before ten.

Did I mention nobody is riding in golf carts?
