Four suspects arrested after Moses Lake pursuit

MOSES LAKE — Four people were arrested following a traffic stop conducted by the U.S. Marshal’s Office and the Moses Lake Police Department Wednesday afternoon.

The U.S. Marshal’s Office contacted emergency dispatch advising they were following a vehicle they believed to be occupied by wanted subjects and possibly an armed suspect. Moses Lake police responded to provide assistance in the area of state Route 17 and East Nelson Road.

“Officers attempted to stop the vehicle and it immediately fled,” police reported. “A short vehicle pursuit followed. The suspects were stopped in a congested parking lot.”

An officer advised he had his gun drawn on the suspect vehicle, according to emergency dispatch.

“One suspect threw a firearm from the vehicle,” police reported. “Five suspects (were) taken into custody. Four were booked and one was released pending charges.”

Sonya M. Adame, 29, was taken into custody for possession of stolen property in the first degree, eluding a police vehicle and driving with a suspended license in the third degree. Anthony R. Vasquez, 20, was taken into custody for unlawful possession of a firearm and making a false statement. Johnny M. Adame, 23, was arrested for warrants concerning DUI. Melissa Vasquez, 24, was arrested for a warrant concerning theft in the third degree. Charges for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a dangerous weapon were forwarded to the Grant County Prosecutor’s Office against a 16-year-old male.
