Easter egg hunts planned for Saturday
COLUMBIA BASIN — Numerous communities throughout the Columbia Basin are hosting Easter egg hunts during the weekend.
Ephrata
The Ephrata Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a free Teen Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt event for ages 11 to 17. The event starts at 8:30 p.m. at Lions Park on Saturday.
There is an opportunity to hunt for candy and pop and to receive prize eggs.
Participants should bring a flashlight and a bag for candy and wear old shoes. Teens should also have their student identification card ready for proof of age.

The Ephrata Rotary is hosting an Easter egg hunt at Lions Park at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The Easter bunny will be on hand to meet children. Come early because the whistler is blown at 11 a.m. sharp to start the hunt.
Moses Lake
The Moses Lake Lions Club is hosting their 13th annual free egg hunt at McCosh Park. The hunt begins with a gunshot start at noon Saturday and lasts about one minute.
“Participants should arrive early because the event goes quickly,” warned Harlan Beagley, Columbia Basin Herald Publisher. “People should also bring their own Easter baskets.”
The hunting areas are divided among five age groups and there is an assisted area for disabled children. About 600 dozen eggs are hidden, there are 150 dozen eggs filled with candy, and some eggs containing special prize tickets.
Volunteers are needed Saturday before the hunt starts to color and decorate eggs. Those interested should arrive at the park around 9 a.m.
Prizes, candy and eggs were donated by Willamette Egg Farms, the Moses Lake Lions Club, the Monroe House and the Columbia Basin Herald.

Othello
MarDon Resort is having an Easter egg hunt and egg coloring at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Participants are encouraged to arrive early. Activities include age-divided hunts, prizes, 3,000 eggs hidden throughout the resort and special guests.
Attendees should bring cameras to take pictures with the Easter bunny.
The resort is located at 8198 Highway 262 in Othello.

Quincy
The Quincy Moose Lodge is hosting the annual Easter Egg Hunt in East Park Saturday at 10 a.m.
There will be eggs filled with candy hidden throughout the park.
It is open to children in fourth grade and under. Participants are encouraged to arrive early.

Warden
The Warden Lions Club is hosting an Easter egg hunt at the Warden High School football field. The hunt begins at 9 a.m. sharp on Saturday.
There are four age groups. The age groups are preschoolers with a parent, preschoolers without a parent, kindergarten through second grade and third grade through fourth grade.
