Big Bend hosts information night

| September 29, 2009 9:00 PM

MOSES LAKE — Big Bend Community College is hosting a college and financial aid information night for high school students and parents.

“This event provides students and parents the opportunity to find out what several Washington institutions have to offer without driving all over the state,” stated Big Bend Counselor Max Heinzmann. “Families and colleges are looking for ways to cut costs, this event brings several institutions to one location.”

It is from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 5, in the Masto Conference Center. The room is located at the Advanced Technologies Education Center (ATEC).

Big Bend financial aid advisor Rita Delgado is giving a one-hour presentation on the financial aid process at 6:30 p.m. The presentation introduces parents and students to financial aid and other forms of financial assistance.

“Big Bend has been involved in this event for over 30 years,” Heinzmann stated. “We are always pleased to host this great event on campus.”

Some state-funded universities and many private institutions are sending representatives to the information night.

Big Bend is in partnership with the Washington Council for High School-College Relations for this event. The Washington Council hosts many events across the state, providing information to students, their families and to high school and community college guidance staff.
