Ephrata prepares for basketball

EPHRATA —  The registration deadline for the Ephrata Parks and Recreation Department’s basketball program is right around the corner.

The basketball program will be divided into two age categories. The first is intended for boys and girls in third and fourth grades and the second is available for boys and girls in fifth and sixth grades.

Participants can be registered online at www.ephrata.org or at Ephrata City Hall at 121 Alder St. during business hours between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

The program is scheduled to begin Monday, Oct. 19 at the Beezley gym and the middle school.

Games will begin Tuesday, Nov. 10 and conclude Thursday, Dec. 17.

The basketball programs is dependent on volunteer coaches. Interested coaches should contact the Ephrata Parks and Recreation Department.

The cost to participate in the program is $25 per child and all games are local and will stress sportsmanship and fun.

The deadline for the program is Monday, Oct. 5.
