Man struck by van during riot

MOSES LAKE — Nineteen-year-old Dakota Johnson, of Moses Lake, was airlifted to a Spokane hospital after being struck by a maroon van during a fight Saturday on Loop Drive in Moses Lake.

Moses Lake police released little information about the event.

Johnson was reported to have sustained life threatening injuries.

He was struck by a maroon colored van during a fight, described as a “large disturbance,” on Loop Drive Saturday at roughly 2:45 p.m., according to the Moses Lake police on Monday.

“Officers determined that the fight had stemmed from a prior physical confrontation the day before,” stated Capt. Dave Ruffin. “Subjects at the Loop Drive disturbance were possessing baseball bats and sticks.”

Leonardo X. Raygoza, 20, Moses Lake, was arrested by Moses Lake police for first degree assault and felony riot.

Jacob L. Sherman, 19, Moses Lake, was arrested for assault and felony riot.

“The case is under investigation,” stated Ruffin. “The police department expects additional charges.”
