MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Golf Club will play host to the 30th annual Sagebrush Shootout Couples Chapman Saturday and Sunday.

The Sagebrush Shootout Couples Chapman is an annual tournament bringing couples from throughout the Pacific Northwest to compete, said Moses Lake Golf Club Director of Golf Mike Eslick.

“We have 45 couples participating in this year’s event,” he said. “Most of our participants are from out of town. They come over for the weekend.”

With more than 40 couples scheduled to compete in the Chapman tournament, Eslick said the event is beneficial to the golf club.

“We have been doing it for 30 years,” he said. “It’s a fun tournament. It’s fun for the couples and it is fun for the staff.”

A couples Chapman format requires both male and female partners to tee off from the tee box. The partners then switch place, each hitting their partners’ ball. After the partners hit twice, they select the best ball and take turns until the hole is complete. This is repeated 18 times, Eslick said.

Entry forms for the 30th annual Sagebrush Shootout Couples Chapman are available in the Moses Lake Golf Club pro shop.
