Honoring Dale

| September 10, 2009 9:00 PM

Dale Baltzell was a cop.

He worked for the Moses Lake Police Department for 33 years, serving as a patrol officer and detective. Dale retired in March 2008. Recently he passed away.

Dale was 59 and left behind his wife of 35 years, Kim, and their three children and six grandchildren.

He also left behind many friends and a community.

“It’s a tragic loss for all of us,” said Moses Lake Police Capt. Dave Ruffin. “He was very, very reliable and someone you could always count on.”

Chief Dean Mitchell said Dale was dedicated to his job and serving the public.

He served his country during the Vietnam War.

The Columbia Basin Herald wrote of his passing and a few people’s sentiments about Dale. The article was posted online, where the community took time to post comments about the passing of one of Moses Lake’s finest.

Their words say a lot about a man who spent more than half his life protecting us and our families.
