Rage finish season seventh

MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Rage 14U fastpitch softball team wrapped up an impressive summer season last month with a seventh-place finish at the National Softball Association Youth Western World Series in Everett, Wash.

Moses Lake finished the tournament with a 4-2 record behind  strong pitching performances from Haylie Van-Laetham.

The Rage kicked off the western world series with an 11-1 victory over the Lynwood Magic before rolling over the Washington Havoc.

The Rage cruised to five runs in the second and added 10 in the third for a 15-2 victory over the Havoc.

Moses Lake met the Columbia Basin Ice in the third game of the tournament, cruising to a 12-0 victory behind the batting of Brianna Hoffman, Yvette Moreno and Van-Laetham.

After cruising to three straight victories to start the series, the Rage fell in their fourth contest wih an 8-3 loss to the Northwest Athletics of Spokane, Wash.

Following their first defeat, the Rage got back on track with a 5-4 victory over the Everett Titans.

The Rage advanced past the Titans but fell 4-0 to the Bellevue Blast and Moses Lake was forced to settle for seventh place.

The Moses Lake Rage are looking for players for the 2010 season.
