Donald 'Dean' Detwiler Jr.

| September 9, 2009 9:00 PM

As Dean would have said, he has made his journey with the Lord. He has joined his mom Dona Houser, his dad Donald D. Detwiler Sr., and 3 of his siblings in heaven.

He will be watching down over his children Stephanie and husband Danail New-Detwiler, Terry and wife Theresa Detwiler and Deanna Detwiler and life partner David Cold. His grandchildren David (10), Ashley (9), Kiaira (9), Jessie (8), Corinna (8), Kenessa (6), Tru (4), Camrin (2), Pypper (1), Carol (2 months). Many brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews, and family he has adopted through his years.

His journey in life has taken him all over the world. He served 2 tours in Vietnam. After being severely injured he came home to the States and started a family. The more family around the happier he was. He enjoyed hunting and fishing which is what brought him to the Ephrata area. He also enjoyed fast cars and good music.

In early 2000 he became a grandparent, and anyone who knew Dean would tell you “Being a grandpa was his greatest accomplishment.”

John 14:19: “A little while longer and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live you will live also.”

Memorial at Church of Christ, 31 Crest Drive, in Ephrata, WA, at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009. Contact his children at (509) 754-4969. Burial at Tahoma National Cemetary in Kent, Washington.
